ThinkData Ed curricula make effective use of a variety of helpful pieces of technology, both within the classroom and on student’s mobile devices.

 

Technology makes it possible for students to conduct their own research and analysis, enabling curiosity while developing in-demand career skills and modern knowledge.

 

Participatory Sensing is a data-collection paradigm that uses students’ mobile devices to join a data collection campaign to address questions that are meaningful to the students.  These campaigns are the center-piece of the IDS curriculum, and turn students from observers to active data scientists.

1. ThinkData Ed App

 

The ThinkData Ed app allows students to gather strategic data and information about their world via participatory sensing, an approach to data collection and interpretation in which individuals use their personal mobile devices and web services to systematically explore interesting aspects of their worlds

2. Interactive IDS Dashboard

 

Our custom interactive dashboard allows students and teachers to review the data collected by the class. It builds visual interpretations of data and allows teachers to manage campaigns quickly and simply.

3. RStudio

 

Students develop statistical modeling skills using the professional-level software R via an RStudio interface. They can come up with a statistical question, and easily explore the data science, while learning coding in the industry-standard language R along the way.

4. LaiLA

 
Our new AI-powered teaching and learning tool makes IDS concepts even more accessible to teachers and their students. LaiLA is trained directly on the IDS curriculum and provides on-demand guidance, clarifies concepts, creates formative assessments, and more to support classroom instruction.
